The Oxford Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum Florilegium group was founded in 2012 by Rosemary Wise and Barbara Mclean, both world renowned botanical illustrators.
The object of the group is to produce botanical illustrations, either line drawings or paintings, of a high standard, for archival purposes. These illustrations currently document the living collections at the Garden and Arboretum, providing us with an invaluable resource for the future. Each illustration is fully comprehensive, showing flowers, fruits and enlargements and dissections where necessary.
The Florilegium group is administered in conjunction with Oxford University Plant Sciences and the original paintings and drawings are archived within the Herbarium forming part of a continuous history of plant recording through botanical illustration.
